Right in the heart of Kelowna is a mountain top park with great views and a secret summit hike. Dilworth Mountain Park is a great place for a short walk with the whole family. There is a kids play structure at the entrance and trails leading in a few directions. All trails are bounded by steep cliffs (fenced off) that offer views of every direction.
Now for two side adventures. At the south end of the park you can head east and find some switchbacks that lead up to a wonderful viewpoint over most of the city. There is also a steep trail down to the cemetery for some more exploring (at night perhaps??).
Lets not forget that there is a real Dilworth summit. Not much needs to be said because the real summit has a water storage tank on top and trees block most of the views. It’s not really worth it.
Your website is awesome!! Thanks for the maps they are very helpful. A lot of the trails one some of the hikes are not marked very well, but with your maps I have been able to navigate them. The high resolution map for Stephens Coyote Ridge comes up as a 404 Error Page not Found.
Thanks again,
Darrell
