Eureka Mountain has a rough road to the top and isn’t very appealing as a hike. It was once a fire lookout station and that is enough for at least some to brave a visit. The lookout has been converted into a cabin for local snowmobiling / offroad enthusiasts.
For human-powered adventurers, it is suggested to summit eureka by mountain bike or backcountry skiing. For our visit (it being February), we opted for the latter.
Parking in the winter is a bit of an issue. The above map shows the closest location we were able to find. This added (albeit flat) several more km of skiing. Our route was 20km round trip (in summer with closer parking this would be reduced considerably).
