Deertrail Resort was the vision by Victoria developer, Albert Yuen. Sadly the resort was never completed and the site was dismantled and ultimately turned into parkland in 2004. The construction involved a lot of concrete walls and stairs which remain to this day. The area is officially closed to the public but that hasn’t held back graffiti artists and urban explorers. A view through the fence is open to all!
There are a variety of excellent swimming holes at the nearby Sooke Potholes.
