Mt Rose tower lookout

The Rose Swanson set of trails east of Armstrong is a nice little half day jaunt with views across the valley north of Vernon. With loop extensions and tangent trails you can spend anywhere from an hour or four exploring the mountain top.

Directions to Trailhead

The trailhead is google-maps-able and easily accessible by any vehicle 10 minutes east of Armstrong. Follow Wood Rd out of the city and then Salmon River Rd, Hallam Rd, and finally Chamberlaine Rd. There is a large obvious parking area near the end of the road.

Trail details

The trails are incredibly well signed, marked, maintained and easy to follow. The best viewpoint is at the Tower Lookout. Make sure to include that on any visit.
