The Esplanade trail is a lakeside/cliff walk that is great for exploring (with kids). If not entirely satisfied, there are options to hike short and steep connectors at a couple locations up to the KVR trail. Further still it is possible to bushwhack (very few bushes) to Mt. Munson and explore the giant
